Restoration House Staff: We would like to introduce you to those who will be a consistent presence at the house and who you may have the pleasure of meeting during a respite stay!
BONNIE RICHARDS: Co -Founder
Bonnie is passionate about her work with those who have experienced severe trauma and has assisted clients with Dissociative Disorders for many years. She brings administrative gifts, teaching resources, and encouragement to our community.
CARLA ASHTON: Co-Founder
Carla Ashton is a Certified Counselor in private practice and is Vice-President and Co-Founder of SRM and The Restoration House. Carla received her certification from Multnomah University and has been working with women recovering from trauma and Dissociative Disorders for over 20 years. She is an avid gardener and skilled artist who uses art media with her clients and is passionate about sharing these methods of self care and expression to the Restoration House community. Carla brings a loving heart to the Restoration House….a vision she has dreamed of for many years.
KRIS CLOSE: Respite Care Coordinator
Kris received her counseling degree from Multnomah University and was in private practice for over 15 years with a specialty of working with Dissociative Disorders. Restoration House is very blessed to have Kris’s experience and the warmth she gives to the women who come to visit or stay.
DAN CLOSE: Maintenance Operations Manager
Dan maintains the yard and does the maintenance for the House. He also works with senior citizens as a liaison. He is delightful, thoughtful and is usually whistling a song of praise.
SHARON MURRAY: Respite Care Relief
Sharon assists the guests in the event of the Close’s absence. Sharon has a MA in Counseling from Multnomah University and was in private practice with survivors supporting their recovery from trauma and dissociation. Sharon is fluent in American Sign Language and currently works full-time as a American Sign Language teacher at our local Mt. View High School.
SHANDA BOARDMAN: Respite Advocate
Shanda Boardman is our Respite Advocate at The Restoration House. Professionally, she’s worked in Physical Therapy for twenty-eight years. Shanda has a calling to minister to women with a history of childhood trauma.
GINGER & DUSTY: HAPPY DOGS
Ginger and Dusty are happy dogs who live at The Restoration House. Very friendly, Dusty (smaller dog) greets all with a wagging tail and a sweet nature. Ginger is so happy to meet new people that she immediately requests a hand/paw shake. Ginger has a heart for people who are struggling and can often be found with her head resting in the lap of someone who needs encouragement that day.
